A VERY FINE CARVED IVORY FIGURAL GROUPING “THE ABDUCTION OF PSYCHE”, FRENCH, CIRCA 1895. Finely carved in full round with deep folds and flowing garments, cascading hair, and finely carved feathering and mounted on a carved ivory columnar plinth. Height 10.5 inches (26.5 cm). The offered carving is based on the painting by William Bouguereau, painted in 1895.
