A FINE 14K GOLD CASED LORGNETTE, CIRCA 1900. The expanding fluted column with acanthus leaf finial supporting the spring hinged lens release and the rims chased with a husk motif. Suspension loop stamped with the gold standard 585 (14K) and with the initials ATR presumably for A Treyden, the jeweler whose name appears stamped on the silk lining of the custom fitted case, “A.Treyden Bijoutier Newsky 42-St. Petersbourg”. Length 5.6 inches (14.3 cm)
