A FINE FRENCH RENAISSANCE REVIVAL LIMOGES ENAMELED COVERED TAZZA 19th century. In the manner of Pierre Courteys. The interior finely decorated in shaded grisaille enameled scene of young lovers with flesh tone highlights, below a domed lid with classical busts in oval cartouches interspersed with facial masks and putto, the lid interior with similar classical busts and the whole raised on a bell shaped footed pedestal with enameled acanthus and fruit laden swags. Some losses and repairs. Provenance: Innes Young Estate Auction, November 1953 New Haven, CT, and accompanied with illustrated sale bill from said auction. Height 10.5 inches (26.5 cm).
