A VERY FINE PAIR OF CARVED IVORY AND SILVER GILT GERMANIC KNIGHTS, PROBABLY AUSTRIAN, LATE 19TH CENTURY. Each finely modeled with ornate repoussed armor in the form of Germanic knights, one with a winged helmet with moveable visor and each with traditional weaponry, the faces well carved in ivory and with each figure atop a reticulated silver plinth. Stamped 17th century style German hallmarks. Height 9.5 inches and 11.25 inches (24 and 28.5 cm).
