A FINE 18TH CENTURY ITALIAN MICRO MOSAIC, STUDIO OF GIACOMO RAFFAELLI (1753-1836). Depicting a small tropical bird resting on a branch and framed in a green and blue border. Contained in a period gilt frame. Verso of original copper support engraved with the signature "Maccesi"(?) and the abbreviation for Fecit, and further painted with the date 1796. Verso of frame inscribed with the species name "Grimpereau du Bresil." 5.25 inches x 6.5 inches (13 x 16.5 cm).
